Because it's fun, the game has interesting combat mechanics. Everything you have or do could potentially help you become a stronger force in the hearthlands, and I will do what I can to stop that. Killing you, taking your things.

EDIT: Or just becoming friends. Happens.

Well yes... I could understand that, its just my opinion on life and sometimes its cruelities, and I dont have a need to become a strong force, just to have fun in a game that I enjoy playing. :)

Oh god all these topics with butthurt people.

Even though you don't take it that bad, there are just so many of these threads.

It burns.

Yeah, it's a pretty open game, play it for fun, what ever it is that is fun for you. I dis like all the rants about raiders in game being pyschotic, disturbed individuals in real life, which no you did not say, but has been brought up before.

Free stuff is a good reason. If someone's base is undefended and they can't fight back its free. 90% of the stuff in Odditown this world was stolen and we had a lot of stuff. Though I do disagree with how most people raid, destroying everything, but that because its wasteful not because of some wanting of peace like it seems you want.

Im sorry mister Sacredoom, but I am not butthurt, I am just giving my opinions on life
like I mention to some of the posts in this game. Just my opinion, but isn't kind of
wrong to judge a book by its cover and just say sinces its got Raided in the title to
think that im just going to be trolling and saying that they suck and this game sucks.
I am not butthurt like I said and actually just sharing my thoughts. Its not like a mod
to judge the title and barely skimming over the posts without giving thought
to what the people are saying and to just say that were angry.

I agree with you, but if anyone sees my little settlement and gos to raid, just steal stuff, the worst im going to is maybe have a twitch of anger. But over I live near a river and where would be the interest of fishing there, except if you don't have a pole. I honestly do not care if you steal food or curiosities because I could just get more.

I bet 10$ that you torture small woodland creatures IRL.

Then let me take a different road and argue against the "perfect" world.

Having no war and no theft would cause a great power vacuum, if no one in 50 years had stolen anything how would people react when someone did? What about threats of violence? They most likely wouldn't say hey fuck this I'm gonna kick the shit out of you. They would cower in fear due to a lack of knowledge on the situation. We live in a destructive world where human nature is to rise to the top, at least most human nature, and that in and of itself causes the violence that happens today. If I take something from person A then not only do I have more but they have less, that's less competition and more likely hood that you'll be leading the pack. I personally don't live like this but I know of people that do and they will quickly sell their souls and their children's souls to win. And with that being the big and bad person that has the power in this world imagine if we weren't used to that level of bullshit happening? I mean only way to make the world "perfect" is to take away our right to agency, our right to choose, and that my friend is what people at the top are trying to limit from you and keep from themselves. And in a game like Haven and Hearth where it disassociates from reality, where killing is only a set back in stead of a game over, then morality becomes less of something that slows people down.
