Our plots are only segregated for organization purposes as we pretty much trust each other as kins as well as inter-village competitions. One of them knows a little Russian but not enough to hold a long conversation with a native.

An enemy will only fight if he believes he either has a chance to win, or you've backed him into a corner and he's fighting for his life. A completely crushing victory provides an enemy with neither.

I ask because I need a translator IG. We have a Russkiy village nearby; it would be nice to know if they are friends or enemies.

Don't listen to Burg too much. He just happens to be sharing his plot with some of the best people I've ever met in the game. He's hardly having the "average" plot sharing experience. :D

You could use a translator to ask them in Russian to use a translator (then link to one). It would help to do one other than google translate, though.

 Do you know what it takes to translate from Russian to English? We use two completely different alphabets! Turnaround time for translations is very slow - at least on my end, which does not have a Cyrillic keyboard and relies on online keyboards and translator programs which are difficult to master. :|

Is it easier for a Russian to use Google Translate than an American? :?:

Ender's client has google translate built in doesn't it? You just gotta turn it on? (I've never used it so I don't know)

it depends on what kind of translations you need.

-if you need a translator to solve some kind of serious issues, never expect google translate to work well enough.
(in that case, change your thread title to a specific one, or if in a hurry, make a new thread in Apple for Oranges with rewards, i always translate(E<=>J only) for free, and i remember alpha used to volunteer tranlsating for free often too, but ive seen quite a few russian/english translators charging fees on the forums.)

-if its nothing too serious, google translate helps, but it takes certain steps to use efficiently.
(no usage of slangs, correct grammar and spelling, short and simple sentences, avoid unique idioms, and so on. use ender's built-in to read what russians say, and open a browser window for google translate to translate your words into russian, you can copy from the translated and paste onto ingame chat. no need to worry about the keyboard.)
always remember that ingame chat people use slangs all over and google cant help it, you should let him/her know that you are using google so that he/she can try talking in easy phrases with no slangs to be translated better.

in case you are not using ender's built-in google, you can also ask your russian friend to type in your alphabet. there is a checkbox on google translation page for russian, which allows you to type in english alphabet and change it into russian alphabet automatically.(sometimes you find multiple candidates for changes though.)
