The Holy Trinity.

I recently purchased Terraria and I have to say I am impressed. The ability to build whatever I want in real time with little to no limitations has always appealed to me and Terraria/Minecraft are the top contenders for casual gamers such as myself. If you want to go a bit further I would say Wurm Online. 3D. Java. Good stuff.

Project Zomboid. Another great game. If you love the zombie survival concept this is a game you need to check out.

MMORPGs aren't doing it for me like they used to. Maybe I'm just getting old and I'm getting tired of trying to find that perfect game, but I've been playing a lot of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lately as well as Diablo II.

Oh yeah, between Minecraft and Terraria, Minecraft has more of an edge because the world is never-ending. You can walk and walk and never reach the end because there is no end. Also, you can build portals. Pretty interesting.

Technically Minecraft has an edge but it takes hours to get to.

Also I think Minecraft is going to receive more updates than Terraria. I think they got Terraria where they wanted it (they released early) now we'll see if they release more patches for free.

If by "updates" you mean "mods", then sure. Notch has practically abandoned Minecraft. Now he's working on this new game called Permanent vacations.

wurm is very similar to H&H but 3d and I suppose much slower paced

Example of affecting the landscape in wurm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5EUHqSEcFg&feature=related

the graphics can go higher than that and youll also notice it's sped up a lot, building just 1 3x2 house in wurm takes like a day

You do need to pay for premium but it's not that expensive (or play as free member if u wanna be a nub)

new server coming out soon too

Another thing about Dwarf Fortress- it will make H&H actually even MORE enjoyable. How, you might ask? Well, the one saying that everyone who plays DF lives by- "Losing is fun!"

I believe they released early because the game was leaked. I don't think Terraria is out of the race just yet.

You are correct. They seem more legit now that I've read some. I'm just losing faith in developers plus understand the need to make money for your work.

When I'm in the mood for a quick puzzle or two I play Desktop Dungeons.

It's sort of hard to describe.
