Although im not in anyway a veteran, i sometimes lack motivation to keep going, usually when i die as soon as i find something i like doing, but i found that just finding the simple things in hnh are enough to keep you going, just excelling in a particular field without taking to seriously, for me, that was at one point, small time farming and building up a small hermitage away from the populated area's so i could just enjoy the *serenity* of hnh, other times its been a tailor.

Point is, you may think you have done everything, and been everywhere, butyou most likely havn't you might find you thoroughly enjoy being a full time baker or something else simple.

Or perhaps take a roadtrip, load up a wagon and raft. and travel around for a few days, just claim and roundpole your wagon each time you rest, and if someone steals it, well there's one more thing to do ;) but go around talk to people (if they dont run on sight) meet new players and people see what they do to fill in time on haven.

And if you think it's boring because of stats, make a new char, spawn in the wild and build a home from scratch, dont use your main's resources to hep, just face those day to day challenges of being a noob all over again :)

If worse comes to worse just wait around for W6. join a war or something, and if you die, just play a fill in game until W6

to me, you seem to be just too new to know the previous worlds where they updated almost weekly...maybe.
im not veteran to know those weekly updating days either, but i do not think they need to learn from paradox in that sense. arent they rather selling their own game design principles to a game company?

to op,
i cant call myself a veteran either, but since i wanted to post the above, i might as well have a say if you dont mind.
as a casual player, i still have loads of things that i want to do....
but that is probably because i play slow and i never rush, i often take a break when i feel like it, i dont join in ql race, and my main activity with this game is chatting. (and i only *fight* on the forums or chat.)
but i do understand what you mean, many of my friends have also quit or are taking a break till the reset since they feel like there is nothing else they want to do any more.

why not just take a break when you feel you have lost your motivation, and come back whenever you feel like?

personally i would love to test to confirm many of the formulae...but i never manage to spare time for good samples.
at the end of w3, i got tired of village business and started a brand new char to test-hermit, to start all over again from a scratch at somewhere i had never been to before. it was so fresh and nice, and motivated me to keep on hermitting with w4. doing something very different from what you are very used to can sometimes bring you another motivation too. (maybe combat too? lol)

ahh, ninja already said it better :P

I love that beautiful dragon artwork <3

<insert not a veteran disclaimer>

I think in games like this it's all about making goals, realistic ones. At first the goals are related to building up a settlement or a character (Setting up each industry, getting that brickwall done, stats high enough not to softcap things, stats high enough to defend oneself) but after that they get a little more imaginative. One day I'd like to know every industry inside & out even though it's not my role in the village. One day I'd love to live among newbies and mentor them. One day I'd love to assist the construction of a trading post full of barter stands and vending stands. I'd like to take a longass wagon trip from one friend's house to another. One day I'd like to actually fight back against the people bug-raiding me and win instead of running like a bitch  I like to test the numbers of things and make sure the wiki is correct (yay math). One day I'd like to have animals with better q bones than bears...heh...

It's hard for me to imagine a time when I've run out of dreams, and even then if I do I still get a lot of enjoyment out of helping my village mates reach their goals. I suppose if I ran out of dreams AND all my village mates quit I'd be pretty stuck, but there always seems to be at least one more person out there with a worthwhile goal that could use a hand.

Nothing, because there is no end-game. It's supposed to be PvP, but that can't work without a proper siege system (let's face it, killing characters is just a minor annoyance to the enemy), and that can't happen until the devs have time to work on Haven. So yeah, I've quit playing too about a month ago, and I don't see any point in returning until the updates resume.

I guess this thread is mostly desperation to find something... anything.. that will bring that magic back. As I said, probably world 6 is the best option.

Looking at my join date, yeah I guess I'm a noob, but..for reasons I dont want to go into, I have had a lot of spare time on my hands lately, and when I say eight months... I pretty much mean the whole eight months, 12-18 hrs a day lol ( I am a no lifer and proud of it, at my age Ive already had a life, experienced stuff that many people wont have, and frankly, its a nice change to do sod all but play)

Ive hermited, villaged, hermited again, villaged again.. and the guys in the village Im in at present, have got to be the greatest bunch of people I have ever met, kudos to you guys, youre awesome.

Ive travelled more than half of this world, been a top class crafter, helped newbies whenever I could and been involved in 'justice' raids with some of the major villages. (not that I was much use, but hell, if they are aiming for me someone else gets a break)

I spawned next to Odditown initially, that was fun... Ive mined, farmed, bred animals, carved up a troll, etc etc etc.

Maybe it is the lack of updates, ( Im not complaining... I know those guys are busy) hell even a new plant would have made a difference.. remember that wolf troll.. lol classic stuff.. but the feeling of.. oooh ... something new, was brilliant, until (was it Painhurtz?) admitted it.. damn him but well done on an awesome troll.

Yeah I guess world 6 it is... but I will be checking in..
Can anybody fly this thing?

T'was Projeear who did the wolf troll thing.

I'm still suggesting drawing. Nice way to renew interest in almost every game.

You have the resources, you have the time! Why not set up the "New" Constantinople - You could call it "New Constantinople" - With all this raiding this world why don't you try and get a coin based system up and running, I've only played in one village that used a coin system and at the best of times the economy sucked, still it was a lot of fun and I enjoy every minute of it - We used Tin coins and only Tin coins, but if you could get the other coins rolling too I'm sure it would be a lot of fun and a great change to the constant raids of W5. You are not interested in Raiding/PvP which is fine but setting up something as epic as a world trade route with coin system would be epic. Do something that you will be forever remembered in Haven! Go down in history! ant that Dragon art is boss! Kudos to you Ma'am.

I think at this point your only option is to create your fun.

I wish you all the best and I admit I can now never replace this game, it has become such a big part of my life in a sad yet satisfying way and if you try to explain this to people that don't play haven, they just don't understand. :)

But what's to stop you from having fun while getting it going, why so negative sir? perhaps she could network with the people that run said vaults and maybe even get protection from them - It would not only help her but perhaps they too would enjoy less nub killing and more actual PvP?

Like Sacredoom, even if I don't go start to end in the game, (like steel, gold, silver material, etc...) I try to update the graphics on my own personal taste
And I think you're right, LP system and curios, is easier to get and that's not a bad thing, I guess I like to don't have to plow field after fields to get LP, but It give free time you haven't before
