You killed them all before they could reproduce. Well, you and boars.
It's much easier to hate than create.

I find this particularly amusing because I thought boating around the northwest might not be very safe at the moment, so instead of using my semi-main, I made an alt just to go and get some water and stuffs. Went right past AD :) Only saw one other person, and they were wearing a fox hat.

Well, I am a newbie but I'll certainly not tell you where I am. I'm tucked away, deep in the forest - and even take care not to clear the trees at my site, thus the minimap still shows a thick forest at my site.

That said, all this is a good and a bad thing: the good thing is that I've never seen another player near my camp, the bad thing is that it's damn lonely never seeing another player. Playing since a week now - and in that time I've met 6 players:

First one was probably a bot, not recting on area chat and running the same route up and down.
Second one was helpful and gave me a lift with his boat (I spawned on a small island with that character). Thanks.
Third one I didn't meet in person, I was sleeping in my leanto - but he robbed everything else in the camp.
Fourth one was a fisher, little contact.
Fifth one was someone following a scent, short chat.
Sixth one I met while exploring far from home for seeds, nice and helpful, gave me some hemp and flax seeds. Thanks.

Good for my safety that way, but at times it feels like a single-player game.

Northwest is pretty much a cesspool of RUA towns and their anal friends.

How kind of you. But you probably won't have much to fear until my murder toon becomes a palibasher in a few days until I don't have to rely so much on my merry little men bashing into a place so I can steal whatever cheese you may have.

Well, if you need a "palibasher" to kill a newbie ...

Noobs with palisades are usually the only ones with something worth a damn (cheese). Noobs without walls are only good for quick kills.

FYI I consider everyone that's not advanced as major villages to be "noobs".
