oh ill just make my own mmo game, oh hey guess what ill just take these graphics from this wonderful game called HH. that will do nicely.

i wouldnt expect anything less than MCR.
so many bands these days arent even ripping off but completely covering obscure old 60's-70's tracks that no one remembers and getting away with it being known as their "awesome" song.

You know it's completely impossible to make a 100% original song, right? There's even a prize to do something like that which is still unclaimed. Plus, most of these songs you're talking about (Sunglasses at Night versus Miley Cyrus for example) aren't usually illegal in any way. Most likely the record company owns the rights to the song and is allowing or even asking the artist to use it, or they have paid for the rights.
