I don't think its the player count, I think it's just something within the server.
It's happened a few times but It normally gets fixed within next day or so.

Wasn't trying to imply this =). The server does this from time to time (every couple weeks to a month), it happens, just happened to happen on the day a bunch of new players joined up >.>

Doesn't the server have to restart in order to correct it?

More newbies = more fun.
And don't forget newbies, turn on the global chat with Ctrl + c to make friends and receive helpful advices!

Global chat is a dangerous mistress. I think you'd be better off with the IRC personally since that is regulated to some extent. Just take everything you hear there with a grain of salt.

Hi, thanks for this thread, but I've read it to late.

I joined recently as a result of that youtube video, the concept really impressed me. My first character is in the wilderness somewhere between a swamp and a large clay field. I made a second character to check out the charter cities because up until then i have never seen another human. Well "PARADISE" doesn't live up to it's name and configured in such a way that trapped my second character and i can't even access teh teleport stone to try the other 3 cities. Does anybody know hwo to get out or if not to just delete teh character.

This is my second character and he has full satiation. My first character screwed around way to much and while i was able to make a log cabin i'm about to starve to death and am wandering aimlessly trying to find rabbits to kill.

A lot of villages just use character stones as exploits and they inevitably trap newbies with them. Your character isn't getting out and you have no way to kill them or delete them. Stick to your first character and starve it out. It takes a long time to die of starvation. See if you can't get some curiosities so you can buy up exploration to find delicious berries and roots -- maybe even mushrooms. Explore a lot and see if you can find Grassland, Heath, or Moors and get a flock of chickens to eat. Remember to cook the meat before eating it. Rabbits are less abundant than Chickens. Worst case scenario you'll get a few more hours in before starving to death. Remember that the bars are deceptive. Overstuffed is 5% of the total bar while Starving is 50% of the bar. You maybe be hungry but it will take you longer to starve to death than it did to go from Overstuffed to Very Hungry.

In this game it is probably good to die a few times as a learning exercise, if you are just starting out you have nothing to lose, you can always start a new character. The first thing to do with your new character is train exploration. Exploration will allow you to see things that you need to survive on, initially there isn't much to eat but all around you there are taproots, blueberries and mushrooms that you just cant see. Every time you find something new you 'discover' it. So pick up everything you can. Digging will allow you to discover dirt and then worms. Every different type of tree has a variety of different things to discover - bark, branch, seed/fruit. You can even discover water and digging in shallow water will allow you to find clay. All these things will give you learning points to spend on EXPLORATION. Good luck.
