Or when there is no living villager anymore (also it is under 50k auth when you can start stealing). Or when you are a villager and there is no current LS.

It is bad too. What if the ls die and a villager want to take his place? How can the villager become the ls if both ls and cf dies?

The 50k thing is not bad. What is bad is how easy it is to keep auth up at the moment.

The second one. Any villager with the LS skill can walk up to the idol and take LS when there currently is none. How else would you want this to be handled? I don't see any better way.
