Ya about time is right....

He screamed like a pig before they killed him.

So much for fighting to the death like he said he would months back... When the moment of his death came and he was held down by his former citizens, he begged for their mercy and his life.

He also called the rebels rats yet he himself was cowering in a sewage pipe.

I'll be the odd man out...

I am perplexed by watching so many people who are against the death penalty feasting on Gadhafi's corpse.
I wonder which head of state will be next to be targeted and executed without a trial.

Something does not seem right -- Ahmadinejad gets a dinner at Columbia and Gadhafi gets a bullet in the head?

You are correct. He should have been given a fair trial, even if it is something that he would have deprived his own people of.

The whole situation in Libya was obviously only done because it benefits the West, the US in particular. Of course, it would benefit the US if Ahmadinejad was gone, but that can't happen short of a national revolution in Iran and/or a war. Iran's kind of dangerous for the US to go to war with, especially with their nuclear program. You never know if they'll try to use nuclear weapons on us.

With that said, and for the sole purpose of trying to make what I just said not sound so one-sided, every major country in the world does the same damn thing. It's not just the US or "the West;" Russia and China do the same thing, among others. It's just a reality of politics and foreign policy.

The last thing you give a monster is a stage to speak out on. No, having him murdered by the hands of his former citizens who he routinely tortured, imprisoned and killed is justice in its purest form.

And hopefully other monsters out there have seen whats happened to Iraq and Libya's former leadership and start to re-think their own policies and practices.

I'm looking at you Syria.

Seems sad to me that his last words were "Don't shoot."
I know he's done some horrible things but it gets me whenever someone says it, regardless of the person.

On that note, if I'm aiming at you and you say don't shoot, I may or may not still do it. :D

Honestly Wow. You all spew hate at him. However honestly as far as leaders go. He was not as bad as you think. Case and point this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJURNC0e6Ek It shows several amazing things he did for his people.
Seriously. He was no where near as bad as you think. infact. NATO killed more civ. then his forces did during the civil war. Also by no means was it a "Regime" It was an absolute democracy. (Basicly Electing a dictator for a term, key is that it is still democratic) Get your facts straight before you tap dance on his grave. (IMO He was no saint but by no means someone we need to celebrate the death of.)

i agree with u

i am not for the death penalty, and i wouldnt celebrate his death or anyone elses, but what i certainly dont feel saddened by the fact that a man who has managed to kill thousands, tortured many more, and bought about misery to a lot of people in his country and out is finally dead.

this isnt about the west, or what it needs, if anything the current instability int he region is much more of a worry than the countless business cotnracts american and western companies have made with Gadaffi in the last few years. this change is more unsettling to the west than to Libyans themselves.

the end of a shitty regime. and hopefully more to come
