When I finally got my iron mine operational, my priorities were:
Wrought & Steel for BW
Hammer and Anvil
Metal Plow - The difference in the time it takes my farmers is huge
Pickaxes - Mining, Cellar digging, stone harvesting
Shovel - Clay Digging, stump removal
Metal Saw - Great for when board Q is of no matter (housing, barrels, buckets, etc)
Scythe - A nicety for the farmers, but not always used due to the reduction in cargo capacity
Haven't even bothered with weapons or armor yet, as at our level, unarmed and leather is more then enough for what we're capable of.

Wth man, 3 miners and you just have this amount of ore? Really, lazy boyz.

Also, with them moving that slowly, you don't need 3 pickaxes, I doubt they are all mining at the same time, make them share.

kilakan... you ever delved into the Warhammer 40k universe by chance?

Hehehe good guess, ya play all the time. Now back to the problem at hand, want me to fake-raid you so that the people with the swords can pretend to chase me off and make it seem like they were right?

first thing you should make with iron is a fist, to crush any dissent in your village

You know, I've seen that backfire horribly before, younge villages with only barely talented fighters rush brick walls and before you know it people are bashing through their palisade sections since they may have valuables.

You could:

1. ****Learn to share - after all, you are all in this village together.
2. Create a 'storage house' with a Pclaim on it, and store your metal items in it. Allow absolutely no access but trespassing (giving access to those you trust, can come later). Track those who aren't trustworthy enough to leave the items in the storage shed after they log out, and deal with them however you deem fit.
3. Remove villagers that are obviously not adding any progression to the village. Villagers with selfish gain in mind are unworthy, and may cause you great harm.. You never know when someone might go rogue, or sell you out to an enemy.

These are ways I've dealt with villagers in the past. Since then, we've all learned to share, and I'm happily living in a thriving community.

****(best way to deal with it, obviously).

It only backfires horribly if you don't get organized and get it done quickly.
