Recruit/Trade? Advice needed

Thanks Eemerald, btw, r u the founder of w5 emerald city? If so that was very successfull i've been told.
I know raiding etc is part of the game but at least until i have brilliant stats i don't want to go down that route, also as min said my pc will lag, even when i joined sum1's party in w5 i was stood vacantly in the way which was quite embarrassing, lol.

For the time being i will develop both char's in seperate ways and get to know the neighbours, but have lots of idea's to work with now and am grateful for all the advice. : )

p.s i have smilies, it says they r on, why don't they work, lol, i bet its something really stupid i'm not doing but hey if i don't ask i'll never have them.
