or to make jewelry, or gold trimmed armor/buildings. That would be awesome.

Or a selective of figureheads, which improve big chips in any direction. :) Maybe they get a magic speed upgrade by storms for a while or it will increase getting many fishes.

Or a battering ram against traffic and for pirates :o :o :o

Or special harpoons for whale hunting...

Don't be silly, obviously gold will be used in certain alchemical reactions to produce lead. ;)
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

Gold has a value.

The City of Brodgar will pay 10 copper bars for a single gold bar.

I would think people who actually had the gold would be the ones setting the price.
Since I haven't even seen a gold bar that price would probably be way too low. Since the rarity of it plus the fact when it actually does get a use everyone would want a bar.

Not to mention the rarity itself is a clear clue that it is an endgame material.

The point of the offer was not to obtain the gold, but merely to demonstrate that there is a value to gold. It is at MINIMUM 10 copper bars.

based on the wiki, that states a smelt ratio of 1 gold bar per 300-400 ore, i would estimate at the very least 100 bars of any common metal for a bar of gold
