I like play Lego. I like to play Age of Empire. I like to play Conquest of the New World. I like to play Role Play Game.

HH have some of those games in different occasions.
So you dream to play a mix of those games.

Often HH show you that it is just a fake dream.
Few times that dream is real.

After a while you understand that you're not playing a game, but an idea of gaming, then you can play it how you like most.

If someone steals from a claimed plot they leave evidence in the form of a scent. Scents can be used to find the thief's home and get revenge. As for walls, they can indeed be broken, but keep in mind rams require 24hrs to set, so you don't need to be an immortal being to prevent nighttime burglaries. While I get your point that nowhere is safe, the key is to make yourself an unattractive target. You can't be untouchable but it is within your power to make it expensive, time consuming, and risky for someone to attack your settlement.

You ask where the fun can be. Some people enjoy 'fighting crime' and getting revenge. Some people enjoy destroying stuff and being a 'criminal' (why do you think Grand Theft Auto was a success?). Some people enjoy avenging/protecting newer players or hermits that get raided. Many people take pride in being able to thrive and overcome setbacks/challenges. If the game is not fun for you that's OK. Honestly, I think the average human would not find this game fun

It may make more sense to think of the thieves/raiders/assholes as part of the environment you're trying to survive in.
Kinda like a bear, but with a much better AI... and better loot when you defeat them ;)

I nominate this for the Post of the Year Award.

I second this notion!

I play HnH for the adrenaline rush u get when some random guy attacks you and you don't know if you'll be able to beat him, you don't know if his 7 friends are right behind and you don't yet know his stats. Hnh is the only game you can get that feeling because it's the only game where dying actually makes a difference.
