I would LOVE if you made it so large boats can only moor out in deep waters, and you'd need to instead row to shore in a raft, or rowboat.

That way, it'd be more realistic and more fun, and then boats could become crewed by more than one person.

Also, if you could make it so large boats have capacity for one or two or even four smaller rowboats, that would be amazing.

I am also up for the idea of large boats having cabins, and smaller boats being able to hold 2 people or more. It would make sailing much more sociable and fun, and you could sail the seven seas with your friends and trade with far-off lands.

Although, I find it more likely that Jorb simply walked up to a lake, took a screenshot, and 'shopped the boat and Loftar images onto it. :P

Anyway, Island properties will suddenly be a lot less secure for the three or four players who can currently reach them.

I've always figured you need three kinds of water- shallows, deep, and open waters. You can walk in shallows, and swim in deep water and open water. Open waters, though, are so far away from shore and all that they are difficult to navigate. Small boats would flounder for a while, drifting randomly, when stuck in open water. Thus you can't cross the ocean on a log raft, or at least not regularly.
