I had to get a friend to teach me. And even then I couldn't survive the first goblin ambushes.

Really?? It took me 2 days to learn.. Theres a guy on youtube that teached meh... his name is "DjRodw".. i think i cant really remember .. Then i just owned everything.. I started a war with everybody .. And the goblins were crushed with my massive army..

Try Project Zomboid.
It's a post-apocalyptic zombie game. I think you'll find it quite addicting.
It's got some realism factor on it. You can get tired, depressed, scared, sleepy, etc. THIS ISN'T FOR PUSSIES.

Can't you play the whole game for free as long as you don't allow it to connect to the internet? Or is that a different game?

Nope. You can download the full game but you have to buy an activation key thing. And then make an account.

Try Rogue Survivor. It's another zombie game but it's completely free. The controls need a little getting used to but it's fun as hell.

We have some rather hostile neighbours so until I'm prepared I can't really do much but wait
