Oh, we do that. In fact, we have double crossroads: inside walls for outgoing connections, and outside for incoming. But we still don't want everyone to have access.

but why don't you build a crossroad outside your village instead so you don't have to think about unwilling people getting access to your village??? that's what we are gonna do in my village

The locations of our villages are not widely known, and that is preferable. Safety in obscurity and what not. We do not want to give the ability to 'port directly to our towns to just anybody.

ok but i still recommend doing like that to villages that are known

I almost forgot one very important thing: trade contract includes non-aggression pact and criminal extradition treaty. Basically, if anyone from a partner village commits a crime against any of our villages, we will ask for the criminal's head. If the request is denied, trade agreement is automatically dissolved.
