This holds true especially when they are strangers, who have no ties which makes them obligated to help you.

Visit the "How Do I?" section of the forums, read the stickies there, they do wonders. Don't be hesitant to ask questions, and if they're simple enough remember to put them in the stickied thread.

Two names to trust in that section are TeckXKnight and MagicManICT (that does not mean that they are the only ones who give good responses, they just manage that section like it's their job)

The funniest part of this game is discovering it.

And don't join a village before you've discovered the game on your own.
They'd spoil the game, you'd have no more fun. Unless filling tanning tubs, or gathering logs, ..., is funny.

When you'll have been ganked a lot, died a lot, been stolen a lot, join a brickwalled village.
If your village is big, you'll have fun fucking people around.
If not, you'll have fun sneaking out to get some rabbit meat. or not.

I'm good when it comes to these kind of Sandbox games. But H&H is probably one of the hardest I have played ever.
