As Burg has said before, there is no real "endgame" in hnh aside from pvp and most people get bored once they're behind a few BWs with a curtain around themselves

The most common reason is to rid off hermits away from their area of expansion (though there are other means)
Some are just bored the hell out
And some are dicks

Some time last world, I was boating around foraging when I spotted this noob hunting deer, he was a bit startled, but I quickly calmed his nerves and assured him I wasn't there to kill him. After that was established, I offered him help killing the deer and he said "sure!". So I jumped out of my boat and started melee'ing deer for him and to return the kind favor he steals my boat and goes to the other side of the river with it. He pulls my bear out and places it in his boat, then my chest out and presumably starts taking things. I agro'd him, clicked across the river, client crashed and I drown. He has cursed you all for worlds to come.

some people just noob hunt for thrills and laughs.

Others want to expand.

If I was to do it, it would be for expansion if I can't convince the noob to leave or if he's not smart enough to join me.

They should kill their real competition then though for the thrill, but that they don't. Rather kill a helpless newbie and then brag about it.

I prefer to KO newbie chars and steal their curios, they have more lucky to find shocked frogs, rabbit feet and ruby dragonflies than I do. I kill them when they start protect their settlements and it takes more effort from me to steal from them.

well, maybe that was painhertz ? lol'd

eliminating noob and make the area as a total wasteland is the best way to do when you're bored
also, it might sounds selfish or ambitious, but it's the best option for people that want to expand ;)
