Bad trolling or not, I dont think global hurt anyone bad enough to remove it comeplety. It was very good for noobs.

I specifically remember a wolf hunt as a result of global chat / forum trolling. That man made a bunch of bored enemies that day, but amusing nonetheless.

I tried the IRC, no one ever talks, doesn't feel very noob friendly at all.

Oh I don't even really mean noob game wise, I've been playing since early w4, I feel like I know my way around the game pretty well. I just don't care to get involved in forum drama and village politics, and it seems like the IRC is more for people who participate in the community/forum (based on the user list) which is a hard community to break in to.
