Another way of looking at it is the people who are forum frequenters do so because they have large amounts of time to dedicate to haven. Generally speaking, time = "quality" of character within the haven world due to the nature of it being a grind game. People who have less time to play will spend more of it in game, and will also have less time to develop their characters.

This isn't a judgement of intelligence, or skill, but often forum frequenters have more influence/resources in game due to this.
Lucky: haven is so quirky
Lucky: can be so ugly, can be so heartwarming

I know that I found out about this game on IGN. I saw an article about Salem a week ago and they said that SeaTribe had also made a similar game, so I decided to check it out.
loving the game so far, but still a noob.

Woah, easy there! I prefer the term "undistinguished individual" over the derogatory word "noob"...

I'd say it's "forum impaired"

I don't have many posts, but I started playing in w4. I guess to some people, especially forum people, that makes me a noob, but Ingame i don't really think of myself as such? I'm no melee combat expert, tho I can hold my own, and I have a good understanding of almost all game mechanics? I just prefer to lurk on the forums, too much drama, name-calling and flaming.

When someone refuses to use the search function or read forum rules/stickies before posting, don't expect others to be kind and helpful when this person asks a question that's been asked 1,000 times before. Just a form of heckling to keep the unwanteds away.

If the person posting admits their mistake of not utilizing information that's been posted beforehand, you can see how those "name callers and flamers" are quite forgiving.
