sounds like a lazy/stupid programmer, sorry :/

MagicManICT wrote:Myself, I enjoy farming. What frustrates me is making too much to eat and then not having anyone around to eat it. I also enjoy mining and hunting, too. I just can't stand doing the same thing all the time and too many villages want a dedicated farmer or hunter, etc. (As if it's that hard to make alts to do these things....) I would love to see a more interactive farming system, though. The current system is just too much like farmville: plant, wait, harvest, plow, repeat. Crappy systems only encourage botting more.

In my village some people just do one thing, others do several (e.g. at the moment i am hunting/foraging/cheesemaking/treefarming/wallbuilding (nearly done...), also ranging when i get a chance :( ). I think we have 4 people who do some farming right now, only one of whom is a pure farmer (and she is becoming a cook as well, thats a kindof natural synergy though). In a big enough village I think it becomes worthwhile to all do several things (redundancy/backups ftw, or whatever). By the way, we have never used a bot. Every job can be fun if you are chatting to your villagemates while you do it, everyone enjoys different parts of the game...

You have excess food? what quality/price ;).

Yeah, [arable] farming and treefarming needs to be more complex, q sorting is in fact not hard at all, and does not require any real decisions... Hopefully it will be fleshed out in the future (if the devs return).

we dont use bots in our town, i'm like the OP, not so much for my love for farming, but i do enjoy it, and feel some self satisfaction from seeing crops quality improve and seeing how much of an impact it has on other quality village items, like some curios, wine quality, food quality, cloth quality and so on. i cant imagine using a bot to farm anything but perhaps spam fields for banners or straw for mansions.

Bot is as good as his maker. If you know the most efficient way to do the task and you have skill to describe it to a bot in its language, bot can't be worse than human.

I'm not playing right now, otherwise I'd be selling of some of it for things I just can't do all by myself... like high quality silk. I've been tempted to come back, but I'm enjoying myself with A Tale in the Desert, though I'm not sure how much longer I'll be playing. $14 (USD) a month gets old fast when you're trying to make every penny count.

I've really want to see a more interactive farming system, one much more like something you'd see in A Tale in the Desert (ie Barley or Wheat--crops grow interactively using water, fertilizer, and weed killer--but that gets a little too tedious at times) or some sort of mini-game to it. Sure, it could still be botted, but the number of people doing it would go down a bit.

Farming is just ridiculous, anyone farming huge grids of wheat without a bot is wasting there life in insignificant BS. Until farming is reconfigured I will continue to Bot Farm.

Well not everyone has access to botting scripts...

Actually, everyone does have access to them. They're plastered all over the place if you want to be bothered to get them. The only issue is if you have a computer that can run the bot and HnH at the same time, and almost anything newer than a P4 should do it.

I don't have access to them for example and I can't get any from my village. So no WE don't have all access to all bots that are out.

If you don't have them, you're not looking hard enough. Hint: try looking in the forums somewhere. No,not all bots have been stuck out there. Some villages are keeping the good ones to themselves. If you can write a bit of computer code, making bots isn't very hard.

You just contradicted yourself. If some villages are keeping some bots for themselves then NOT all bots are public and available to everyone... Bots posted on forum aren't so much good or not giving big advantage. I'm still searching for mining bot tho.
