this is a myth perpetuated by angry orange people, pay it no heed

May it be myth or not, but I see that every morning on normal days when there is less than 500 people online I see less "lag" spikes than now which is almost unplayable. I know lag is not caused by network lag but to disk efficiency on server. More people = more I/O disk operations to do by logic and forums also puts something on if it is hosted on same server.

You shouldn't wait until w7 because the early stages of development are fun :)

I'd go with 2 years - forever range.

Is it possible that some resourses like gold and few other non renewable resourses gets compleatly depleated by then?

Specially with mad mining bots that exists out there.

Probably almost impossible if you think we have 8 (not 100%) layers underground. Some nodes are pretty close together and some are small and I think silver and gold is more often to be found lower you go. But would be interesting to see if we run out of iron, copper and tin.

I'd love to see it happen. It might be reason enough to start with a larger world. I doubt it will happen, though. Given the world is 25k x 25k tiles and it's 5 layers deep, that's, 3.125 billion tiles. Even if only 1% of the tiles contain ore, that's still 31.25 million tiles to mine out. (It's likely not even that many tiles of ore. Just using it because it's a nice round number.)

Of course, if the server runs long enough, it WILL happen, it is just a matter of how long it takes.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
