"Does that mean jorb himself misused the word alpha?"

If he called it an Alpha "before" deciding it would never be for pay? No. if he called it one after? Then yes.

Game is FAR from newbie friendly, Random starting spots, no tutorials (minus the website). "Lag" Is terrible. LP is a little to much a hassle at start, I think skills like farming/fighting should be cheaper to help allow the newbies get past the first hump.

I think before they move to work on Salem they should get this game in a good working condition because to most people it could be a bad sign of other games to come.

I just started today and It took me bout 30 minutes to learn but that is cause I learn games fast but get people who aren't a huge gamer or something, they might have major problems.

I am sure people might flame this but maybe someone can put more light on these issues?

so, blah blah winge. theres plenty of info available on the hnh site of where to find out ANYTHING. realistically, we've all seen this kind of thing before, and we always point people at the wiki. your essentially critisising somebody elses hobby. the game is FREE. completely free, what did you expect for free, somebody to hold your hand while you play the first week?

That bit at the start where you have no idea what you are doing and you are constantly making new discoveries is one of the best things about the game.

+1

The complexity of the game was what made me hooked in the first place. It took me hours to get past the creation area, I got through that. Then took me hours to find out how to catch a rabbit and chicken... Didn't even know there are skills... If you can't handle the learning curve then this game isn't for you.

Id add in to this as my first post, since I am a new player as well of about a week or so now.

There is so much about this game I love, and one of them is that I dont know how to do most things. I am on my fourth guy I think. Remade him a few times to figure things out, find out where on the map I wanted to be (thanks to the help from a vet on this one... shot a PM to one who spoke about the game as if they knew what was going on, and guess what, they helped!!) on the map (i think I want to be here at least now).

The game is set up great the way it is right now. Initial progression is FAST since there seems to be so much to discover. So when I fuck up and grab the wrong skills (or ones that will be worthless to me for some time.. like archery .. why or why did I spend that 1000 points on it... :( Should have read a bit more on the forums first, but you live and learn... ) And can remake a guy to that same state where only curiosities will raise stuff in a nice small period of time.

So far only some leather stolen and a tanning rack destroyed of mine.

Id have to strongly disagree with the OP post.

>.< though it may not have a "tutorial" i don't recall hazzing one when i played ye' 'ol megaman on nes, but managed to figure that out okay XP, so far as the learning curve may go, if you're not the type to read up on stuffs, and can't pull yourself to ask qustions your effectively removing yourself from the resources available to ya >.< plus being a "hardcore" style game imo, it leave lotsa "growing room" n bein slain at some random point just gives you the opportunity to take whatcha learned first time round and apply yourself better next time ^.^ never read about curiosities u.u but notced the study sreen, was only a matter of time till placing random junk n there would bare fruit XP woop woop cone cows \o/
