The most appropriate post about this from jorb (never from loftar... he's too busy running the server) is from something like May of last year. Guess those "out of date" posts are more relevant than you think.

However, about the most recent server issues, it'll get fixed when there's time. Working on a commercial project with deadlines is a lot different than working on a hobby game. It could just be something simple and be done in a day or two, or it could be a complex issue requiring a week or two worth of time. Patience and understanding goes a long way with this community, even if a big majority does act like complete asses.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

i agree with this whole heartedly, doing programming can be a time consuming job. and them boys are working on something which can be potentially lucrative, so that takes precedence over our little problems at the moment.
The sum of my experience is comprised up of more skeletons on my own claim then alot of you guys have wood blocks invested in your wall. But even though these skeles show i am a bad player- i still strive to continue through this vile territory in the hopes that one day i will have an army big enough to find you and murder all you know

Speaking of relevant, the post is asking questions, not demanding fixes.

The server is crashing more frequently, was simply curious why.

As of the last 48 hours, that's a good 8-10 hours of downtime as of now. It's worth asking about.

but it's been asked too many times before, and people get tired of repeating themselves. this time it crashed we have no idea, but most likely it's the same reason it crashed last time. there are server errors discussed in the bugs board, look them up.

The server crashes constantly, this is not something new. The fact is, this is a free game, so there's no point in complaining about the downtime; you haven't lost any money on it. If you like the game, just develop a hobby that you can enjoy during the next crash, and be patient.

So you didn't actually read the post at all. Thanks for your stellar contribution.

Here's an answer: The only ones that know anything as to WHY the server has crashed is Jorb and Loftar. They are the only ones who can answer WHY.

Common causes for downed server?: Corrupted map data, bugs

You will not find any more information than that about the subject in these forums. I assure you.

This. This is seriously not a troll, which is unusual for him. Are you ok, reefah? Is the server crash getting to you?

My response was solely to the section I quoted. I thought that was obvious, but I guess not.
