greg wrote:Alright, basically this thread tells all the visitors to bottleneck what the rules are.

Rules:

1) If you steal from anyone at bottleneck, you will be knocked out until you give the item back, and if you don't perma fried..
2) If you attack anyone at bottleneck, you will be perma fried.
3) If you burn a fire at our fire wall, you will be knocked out, questioned, and possibly perma fried.
4) If you wall in anyone or place a claim over hearth fires, you will be perma fried.

That's all, obey that and you'll be fine. (perma fried is my way of saying permanently killed)

If we don't recognize you we may question you and ask you for a b12 forum id, if it is older then a week, you will be clear, if it is not, you may have to answer a few questions. After that, you will be cleared as a guest.

Hey greg
Who are you in the game? If someone actually living at bottleneck posted this, I would take it as some well-intentioned but ill-thought out overzealousness. But Ive never seen you in bottleneck. No one has mentioned this to me, and I live in bottleneck. Who do you think you are to set up laws for bottleneck without even talking to the residents first?
I advise you to edit the first post, drastically. At the moment, you look like the new noble in town issueing mandates. And you know what happens to nobles when their mandates get annoying.

May I point out to the fact, that You dont even *live* In bottleneck? You live in Your own *farm*. You dont work with us. You live in your own *settlement* and the only thing that keeps You related to bottleneck is that it's not far away from You?

I think we should just direct this to the junk pile folks.

Look, if your a new person joining Bottleneck, and you were wise enough to read past the first post without frowning, as of yet Greg has almost no connection to the Bay12 community at Bottleneck.

Rules of a community without any central government, WHICH mind you will never be created, or if it is, it will revolve EXTREMELY upon a democracy and all laws and rules will be voted on as a community in mutual agreement. Likely by majority, and frequent repolling.

While it is nice to see someone 'eager' to try and stand a totem of 'law enforcement' not only were they not EXPRESSEDLY agreed on, but ONCE AGAIN YOU PEOPLE ARE MISSING THE POINT.

We are NOT in charge of a GOD DAMN Kangaroo Court. We do not find anyone a wrong and then force them down the tube of the justice system simply to forcefully interrogate and sentence to a swift and unjust end.

Not only will these rules need to be discussed, but until actual law enforcement and a selection of people with good judgement are obtained, we will not go around trying to 'clean up town'.

For now, I vote that we INVESTIGATE, ONLY investigate suspects, and get evidence, then VOTE on what we should do.

The more we go out and grab people by the throat, the more people won't LIKE US. We need a good reputation in order to perform well and trade with our allies, along with obtain new immigrants to our town.

We don't need rule makers like Greg either, so please tone it down. If anyone has ANYTHING to say, discuss it first at the thread in Bay12, and better yet, ingame with other people.

Thank you.

You guys are right, greg missed a very important rule:

- if you are seen near bottleneck and are not part of the community or the forums you will automatically be accused of theft or other misdemeanors, ko'd questioned and killed because there is no way to prove you're innocent.

This.

This needs to stop aswell. There are better ways to handle this.

I think talking about this more should be reserved for a thread of its own, and namely the discussion of voting, and how we should go about it. Obviously in the forum. We should also tell people that its helpful to have a forum account, if not on Bay12Games at least the actual game's forum. This lets people talk about current events and ask for help about bugs, people, and events.

We need to somehow designate safe and nogo zones, so that innocent people can visit without a problem, but if we see strangers in the sensitive areas, they can be dealt with

More building in the mines? town open to visitors but mine area offlimits?

It was good to see WorkerDrone's post. That's what's going to encourage trade with settlements like mine!
