I feel old and out of touch with the internet. Memes such as the ERHMERGERD, chicken nuggets, and swathes of other highly popular sayings and fads are just flat out retarded in my opinion. They weren't funny to begin with and they still aren't funny. My biggest qualms at the moment are tumblr speak and 4chan's latest abbreviation ISHYGDDT. Those are the dredges of meme fuckups.

I beg to differ, I've found so much information on the internet I wouldn't ever know about, mostly from pirated e-books and scouring the wiki. And my English improved as well.
It's really up to the person using it, you can chose not to use the internet to it's full extent and limit yourself to facebook and twitter where you're being fed a constant dose of brain-dulling crap.

The internet can provide unprecedented ease of access to resources, but then again, those are only resources being used by those who want to. Sadly, not many people seem to use the internet for that and instead opt into enjoying the cheap mind dulling humour, which just hurts them if they lack awareness. It just really REALLY sucks when you happen to be aware of all this when surrounded by those who aren't. I can reflect more on this outlook being in my situation with my contrasting views on just about everything to mostly everyone irl whom I know.
