At the current moment my priority is finding a few rabbits. Without a bone saw it seems that the LP I invested in carpentry is simply going to go to waste.

Is there any way to tell where I am in relation to other players in the world? I've found plenty of settlements but so far they've been devoid of people and most of them have a collection of dead bodies near by.

I've found myself near a land called Dis, but like I said, there's no one around and I'm rather stuck on the island I landed on due to my lack of boat building ability.

if u want ppl to talk to ingame, feel free to pass me a hearth secret which you can set through Kin menu which is the heart one. jsut make sure to press set otherwise it doesnt save, and make sure ure not giving it to people too freely as players can spawn on ur hearth secret beside u if your hearthfire is outdoors.

That system is just a tad bit confusing to me. If you could explain it better I'd be very grateful.

First of all: Hello and welcome to HnH!

The hearth secret is some kind of password you can set to let other people add you to their friend list. You can find the option to set it in the menu displayed with the red heart symbol. This menu also holds your current friend list. Use the set heart secret option to create your own password and the other box to find friends who gave you their hearth secret.

A heart secret can be used for something else though and that is to let friends spawn their new characters beside your characters hearth fire (the green one you can teleport to). However that can also be abused by strangers and enemies knowing your hearth secret password to spawn their hostile characters there or to find your position. That is why Emerald adviced you to not just post it openly on the forums.

ah sorry, that wasnt particularl helpful, this game isnt initially easy to grasp. Burg explained it beautifully. i'll take a screenshot for you later to show you where it is and what you need to do to set it etc.

The only thing not there is when you click on someone options appear to send them a message, which are private one to one messages, you can end the kinship so theyd be deleted from ur own kin list, but they still see you i think. Also send a part which ultiple players can chat in and also allows players to follow your direction, this is good when out in groups, or when lost:D. and you have a describe to button which i havent used much if at all, but it allows you to describe players you've met to other players, so if they meet them they'd appear as the described person, but im not sure how it works.
