seems like they intend a lot of automation and all characters persistent from reading the few things they posted on their forum (which i would encourage you all to go read).

Phaen:

1. It is possible to live a 'nomadic' life, but keep in mind that when you log out your character will still be in the game world. Therefore, it is important to at least have a camp with basic defenses.

2. The game does not have NPCs, but it does have basic wildlife.

3. Around 2-3 hours must be invested before you can murder.

4. When you are killed you may re-watch the combat video at anytime. It is stored indefinitely with your character. If you have your killer's name, you can hunt him down with future characters. Also, your character's influence can be used to place a bounty on him upon death.

5. There is nowhere on the map that is 100% safe from retaliation.

6. The game is a vacant wilderness at server start, aside from 'obelisk' structures (main hubs). Everything must be created by players.

7. Currency is weightless and is called 'influence'. It is earned through numerous means.

Btaylor:

We are still implementing the combat engine. If you flee from combat, you are placed at the nearest 'obelisk' without your inventory. You can be 'ganked' by multiple opponents, and you will almost always die in this scenario if you do not flee.

This game does not have a 'log out' feature. All characters are always in the game world at all times. They will defend themself just as effectively as if someone was logged in playing the character.

Also signed up - still bit sceptical on the 'constantly logged in' feature but all else looks pretty positive.
See you there Pain :)

Sounds like a very interesting game. Just a shame I cant register :(

I tried to register on the forums but after hours and hours of waiting I got no registration e-mail to confirm the registration, I even tried to resend the register email over and over with no result.

:(

I registered ok but i did wonder about something, before i actually registered on the forum i clicked the sign up for beta and was told i'd already signed up - i did visit the site previously but i was still undecided and as such didn't sign up.
Hopefully Josh will come back here and be able to help us both with an explination. No-one was on-line on the Topia forum to ask. :)
