Although, i've just boiled 61 mussels and DID get a pearl, - but that is not the usual outcome.

Ooooh. Let me tell you a SHORT story. I had a char, a noob battle one with 100ish melee, 50ish UA, 40ish MMS, 130ish strength, around 55 agi without plate armor, etc. I died. However, me and my friend were in the middle of preparing a forager char. (full LA, around 50 explo, bought him some nice gear which is q260 r-cape and 130 mono) and we didn't do survival yet because he wasn't even ready to forage, he'd need like 100 explo. When I died, I just asked around if I can move in to someone's place, and used my forager alt. Moved into Feaak's, found some mussels, q7 thought because of softcap, got pearl.

I've gotten 2 pearls from 2 mussels once, just picked them up randomly.

And my friend picked up his first 7 mussels recently and he found a pearl in one of them

My own best ratio is 3 pearls out of 25 mussels.
