I've met villages full of them, had a few as village mates, and gotten directions from some while exploring before. There are plenty of friendly Russians, they are often worried by the language barrier though. I've noticed ones that can't speak English at all tend to leave if you can only speak English, is all. It's probably just as scary for them as it is for us. =)

I am russian. And i've never seen friendly russians :D

I remember buying loads of clay from a japanese village earlier in this world. And also trying to get a japanese newbie to talk to me about how they were attacked by Dis in the peace grid (didn't get any hard info, they were too scared of reprisal). I must have annoyed tonky so much, she had to translate for me :D

oh yeah, and the random meetings with japanese players in the wilderness - for some reason all ~3 or so didn't think walls were important. They had cheese and metal industry, but no walls...

I have only ever met friendly Russians, I think they get a very bad press, lol, it was the same when I played Salem, the first person I met there was a russian who gave me loads of tips and advice on how best to play.

I will add though, that on the whole, their first question is always "Which country from?" - So far 'British' seems to be an acceptable answer. :D

Britain is okay here in Russia, because there're a lot of british things that popular here, in Russia. Like Arthur Conan Doyle, he's really big here. :D If you're Irish or Scottish, for some reason, you'll get some additional charisma points...

That's sad, but that was before my time so idk about all that - but I have read the W4 archives, interesting reading. :)
