What keeps you playing?

It is difficult to tie significant emotions to most things, let alone games. The world is a place that rarely elicits anger, fear, or anything worth feeling.
Haven will have your heart pumping a thousand miles per second. You experience true sorrow and defeat, as well as admiration and glory.

I stick around because of the emotional bonds that I have formed with the game.

I don't play anymore and yet I can't bring myself to remove myself from the community entirely. A better question would be what keeps you coming back to the forum?

After seeing how active the community has gotten since I've joined, I kind of regret leaving.

It's one of the first games that actually let's you.....lose. Prior to Haven the closest there was was Ultima Online statloss for dying as a murderer and even that was laughable compared to dying in Haven. Single player games almost always have a save game function (Minus the few with an ironman mode) and Mmog's pretty much universally have a ressurect system so dying is at most a bit of a bother. Pleasure is nothing without pain, happiness is nothing without sadness and Haven allows you to feel a FULL range of emotions, not just "BOO YAA I AM TEH HEROEZ!!!!". That's my take on it anyway.
