I hate bots too, but there's no way to remove it.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

The only way to get rid of them is to change the game mechanics.

That would just get rid of the current bots, but people will just make bots for the new mechanics. lol...........
I think the best thing to do, is build a game around the ability to detect repeatative behavior. I'm making it sound easy, but I know it isn't.
Path of exile has a pretty good system, not sure how they detect bots, but I botted on 3 different accounts on different times, and they all got banhammered.

Its not about getting rid of bots. By changing the mechanics you make it less repetitive and thus less need to bot.

That is possible to an extent. If you were to spread curiousitys so far apart, that it wouldn't be efficient to bot a mountain for edelwieb, then i could see that. However you'd have to make the same for rivers with mussels. I don't think that would work well, you should think out the possible mechanics first, before saying " OH DERPHERP JUST CHANGE MECHANICS DERRRRR"

The mechanics are the game. Now where was it jorb said they were going to change the mechanics to limit botting.

I personally have only used a bot on some paveslave alts when I want to make a large road or whatever. I have done my fair share of non-botted roads in W3 though :p

I don't use bots, but to be honest I don't really know how. If I was able to, I have to say I might consider using one for farming. I've been farming this crap for years now and I'm so overly sick of the monotony of it...lol.

I have never used bots and won't, though I did give it some thought last world for the same reasons as Jinx - farming!

In the end though I decided if I went down that route then where would I stop and to follow that - what would then be the point of playing if i'm not actually playing?
