Easy come, easy go.
If this game is too hard for you in the first few days, then haven isn't for you.

Oh come one now, dont give up! It may be complicated at first but you'll get the hang of it!

Its super fun once you know what you're doing! And heck I'm no pro but I have loads of fun here!!

You'll want to get hunting and foraging first , your first task is to catch a rabbit or a chicken for a bone! Once you have that you'll see new things opening up left and right!

Also to progress you'll need curiosities or 'Qurio's' as we like to call them! Pick 4 branches and a fir cone and craft your self a cone cow, then stick it in your study grid and let it simmer! In just 6 minues you got your self a bit more LP!

Lastly you probably don't want to play with the default client, it may seem like cheating but even the games creators recommended using ender's or Onin's clent. It will offer better play ability such as more mini-map functionality and further view distance!

Good luck and Happy Hearthing!!

I remember somebody claiming that 90% of people who try this game quit.
Haven and Hearth Wiki (Maintained by volunteers - test/verify when practical. Forum thread

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong
TL:;DR: Build a Palisade with only Visitor gates.)

Combat Guide (Overview, PVE, PVP) (Includes how to escape/minimize risk of getting killed.)

I'd say that figure is on the low side.

And the reason they quit isn't because the game is too complicated. Forum posters have too many complications in their head.

Seriously, read the stickies in "How Do I?" to learn how to play. There's one extensive game play guide and a good description of the user interface.

As far as wandering in the forest, that's about all you do the first few days until you learn how to fish.

Word of encouragement to new players: when I first started I didn't even realise you need to put points on exploration and ended up getting menial LP from cone cows and cat gold. Did many other mistakes and fails along the way but now I enjoy this game.

Haven is really on another level compared to any other MMO that I have played.
