Killing isn't bad at all

Lol. There you have it, Haven community in a nutshell.

Randomly killing people seems bad to me because when someone's character dies it means a lot of wasted time and effort for the player. And when the player is a noob, who doesn't bot or has people giving him gear and curios, that's quite an asshole move.

I personally miss politics in this game. I suppose murder would be more tolerable for many players, or even more interesting to follow in the forum, if there were an ideology behind it. At the moment most people are killed just because "they were there", not as a move toward a higher goal. It's sad to realize most factions behave like regular criminals and don't seem to have proper ideals behind them.

Venator, I would say that's not a failure of game mechanics or anything, but more so of the players.

If I started a village that would act like a major police force, making laws myself etc. and actually enforcing them I would create a sense of law and such. Sadly it's the villages like this that get smacked down the earliest, and the hardest because it's really hard to enforce laws if you're faced with outlaws and bandits that are as strong as an entire modern army.

I agree, just see the reactions against Vaku when he tried making something like that.

But what I mean is just some ideals other than asserting power through griefing and noob-killing. See steel fist for example. Didn't work out, but they had an ideology behind it. That was interesting to follow.

Yup. I think that people that enforce their own laws just keep it to themselves and their supergrid. ;) I've got some examples of that but I think you know better than me right. :P

We can squabble over politics but Wayneville, Sodom, Pandemonium (You can argue that they were just Sodom 2.0 but they were a legitimate conglomerate of multiple powerful factions so I'm counting them as their own thing), AD, Dis, and Odditown have historically been very powerful. Sodom essentially controlled world 3 until AD started to rise up towards the end. AD also looked to be poised to control a good portion of the world in world 4, especially after their successful assault on the goons, until the reset.

Probably this, excluding fights that happen at world ends, because everyone is willing to PvP at world ends.
