among other things, the basic idea is that you can't spawn alts at a centralized location to immediately start working on your forager, farmer, fighter, and crafter characters in tandem. bringing alts together will become a major pain in the ass - this will be a step forward towards bringing back true permadeath by requiring people to do all their jobs/fighting on one character, if this character also does your crafting and lawspeaking, it will make people think more about their actions before just going on a #yoloswag crime spree.

i know that there will be people who walk alts all over the world just to get around this, but it's been proven time and time again that poopsockers gonna poopsock. every time something is fixed some sperglord will find a way around it. but it's definitely a step in the right direction

It lends itself to preestablished factions immediately taking control of their supergrid and burning through all of the content in the game in just a few days. It also permits the abuse of alt mechanics that we currently see, with alts being used to wall in other players, absolutely flood areas, and other such nonsense. Not to mention it makes establishing a bot army super simple.

Just build roads and you can teleport along them. Teleportation still exists, you just have to establish the infrastructure for it first.

The question is what happens once the world is covered in road networks. Unless teleportation is limited somehow (and not just wine) faction behaviour will revert back to how it has been so far.

I think players will simply have to be much more creative in how they approach the game. We do not intend to help you meet up, but that is obviously not to say that' you couldn't.

We will attempt to give you tools that allow you to quickly and efficiently traverse quite large distances. You can make maps.

We do not presently intend to allow you to spawn characters at arbitrary points in the world.

It implies too much incentive to use characters for unintended purposes, and ruins the game.

I think it becomes much more interesting this way, and we have to go with that. Sorry.

Not sorry.

We'll have to build walls along roads to prevent obstacles and ambushes. I think this will happen:

Sounds like long-term strategy will be a big deal. Thanks for the changes.

In ancien time people used stars to navigate.
Why not have stars at night, so people could have an idea if they spawned north, sud, est or west of the map ?
