There's nothing political about it. Someone died, this isn't two factions going to war.

Hey, firstly, sorry you lost your char :(

But, as every one else is saying walls really must be a priority, I am astounded you have built 4 houses and do not even have a palisade! You are literally just asking people to come on in and take a look ..... I understand brickwalls are more difficult as a new player but a palisade should come immediately you have the skills to obtain the materials, not after four houses, lol.

Security is first and foremost, other things come later, the more you have on sight without any deterrence, the more people are going to investigate and take anything you do have.
At this late stage in the game a brick wall is the most reliable but, honestly, until you can construct one, a palisade is better than nothing at all.

I hope you have better luck moving forward and this will have motivated you to build a wall next time. :)

Because they can ...... your stuff probably isn't worth anything to them and a lot of players enjoy the killing aspects of the game, it is fun for them.
Notches on bedposts, lol.

Just be glad it is early on and not when you have invested months of work into your char and your base, at least you have learned from this experience and trust me it happens to us all. :)

The reason he kinned you, is because he wants gain a reputation, and he can't do that if he kills people without them knowing who he is.
If you didn't accept his kin, he'd probably leave you alone, log off and immediately run to his bathroom, get in the shower, go into the fetal position and start crying.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I doubt having the achivement Newbie Killer is something to brag about.

Anyhow ArkenRo, I labeled some steps in protecting yourself with forementioned brickwalls and thensome so you can at least feel a bit of security. Good luck with your next life.
