It should perhaps be noted that the attitude of the playerbase is not an intrinsic feature of the game, and that if you don't like it, you could even work to change it. :)

Like you can ever control peoples behavior, you are cruel loftar
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I may be luky but I only found nice people in my neighbourhood.
Peoples came and helps me when i spawned, gave me stuff, ...
Always peacfull "hi" when i cross unknown peoples on boats.
I live from ages just close to a river, with no palissade or BW, farming, doing curios, foraging with no trouble at all.
I guess the troubles comes when you start having cows, porks and stuffs, doing cheeses ...
I were you I'd made severall new toons and just meet villages arounds to see if they are nice before setting.
If not, spawn elsewere, not a big deal.

The Devs made the game to look like what happened in medieval ages.
You need to fight back if you want to stay in the game with your main alive.
W7 - Crestfall
W8 - Silvermoon
W10 - Pueblo Comedia
W11 - Misplaced Caves
W12 - Insulated Gulch
W14 - Vallblómbyrđa
W14 - Local Area Network
W15 - ???

In medieval ages, if you were born a peon and want to survive, you had to make allégence to the powerfull lord in the place, who have the power ( and often the pleasure ) to fight griefers.
Most villages dont disagree at a some life in theyre neghberhood if it cause no trouble, who want to play a solo game ?

I would say the best way would be getting a bunch of players (new ones) have them all start up. Start working ect.... then have all of them play at once in a big city and not give up. Sad thing is its been tried and was even raided to death lol.

Yea right, most of the scummy motherfuckers in this game aren't even in high school yet.

The raiders and un-friendly people you will meet in the game are around 14-16 and have no concept of morality or discipline.

Are you talking about Crestfall? If you are, you need to read up a bit more on their leaders.

Crestfall is nothing special, there have been countless other attempts, this world grey city, brodgar(s) and those weird oak guys to name a few.
mostly it ends in the same result, also raiders come from all places, all countries and ages, they are not limited to 14yo Americans, and some of the younger players can be the most mature, the only problem is they often change quite quickly as we all did at that age.
