I defended him for so long when that happened and when he got banned I was trying to get him unbanned and the guy didn't even say thank you. In fact he participated in trolling some of my posts after he finally got to come back.

I saw all that business with the cap and I felt sorry for him (I thought claeyt was a woman) too, it was a cheap shot, I then was quite surprised when I saw your initial response here, but that now explains it.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Salem is a better game than the current haven but it doesn't matter since the dev can't help be who he is. Sad really.

As for Claeyt, Stockholm syndrome seems the only explanation to me.

I actually had to think about this for a bit. Why AM I still playing this game?

1. Yes he trolled me pretty hard and his other actions made an entire group (The Tribe) commit in-game suicide, but I think he (and the other dev's) realized how he fucked up and was just wasting his game dev time and driving away players. He hasn't done anything like what he did last summer to me and the Tribe. They've instituted regular forum behavior rules (racism/usual Darwoth bullshit) like most games have. They've banned players for in-game racist harassment also and all of the stupid in-game nonsense like the Swamp Nazi's on Roanoke has stopped. I think all of this happened from that thread. Generally they've toned down the forum a lot and the personal harassment of players has slowed to general trolling instead of out-of-control stuff.

2. Since he's gotten away from just trolling other players last summer he and the 5-6 people working on the game have actually done a decent job growing the game and deving a much more playable game.

3. The Game would have died without him/they buying it. It's a better game than HnH and they're better dev's than Jorb and Loftar. I'm sure I'll try the new HnH but I doubt the dev's here will make it anything but a prettier version of HnH. I stopped believing in Lorb's dev powers a long time ago. It's interesting to play a game that was bought by a fanboy/player from the original dev's and developed independently into a more playable game.

TLDR: He trolled me and some other players hard, realized people were leaving the game because of his dumb time wasting actions, and that it wasn't much fun trolling as a dev, so he just started to dev the game and leave the trolling to the players.

TLDR of TLDR: Yeah he's an asshole but they're also better dev's.

I've been trolled worse than that, believe me. I've been harrassed mercilessly by skinheads on another forum. It's what happens when you try to argue for Social Progressive policies against internet racists. I don't think JC was supporting Darwoth's bullshit but I do think he had terrible, horrible timing by trying to troll me with the hat right after I was banned for re-posting one of Darwoth's racist cartoons.

Mostly I think he took this post of mine to heart and simply realized that he fucked up the whole troll attempt and fucked up some in-game friendships with PmP and some of the other tribe guys.
