I guess that explains (or at least confirms) why you're such a goddamn spazz.

Indeed, we are acutely aware of that fact, and in fact, when we started getting players back in May, both Jorb and I were completely convinced that noone would stay for much longer than a few days, or a few weeks at most, for that precise reason. Of course, we are aware of the fact that more people make the game more interesting, but even so, we have been constantly surprised over how long people have actually stayed around. Needless to say, though, we've been enjoying it tremendously and thoroughly.

To be honest, this is the main part of the reason why we call the game an "alpha"; in my mind, we have hardly even begun working on the actual "game" itself -- what we've been doing so far has mostly been developing the core systems required to start on it. Content-wise, we've still hardly even decided where to start.

I don't think it's borng at all, Been here quite a while now, and only just getting started. IThe quality system is a real keeper. Sure there are tedious things, mostly mechanics (a bit too much clicking) and some imbalances. BUt overall, being a longtime "homesteader" in games I would still be playing this game years from now even if it just stayed like it is now. I've been playing Raganrok for going on 8 years now if that is any indication of loyalty to a game I love..lol

Loftar basically has it right. It's more a proof of concept than it is a game.

you could always try and do some quick balance fixes then do a world & stat reset. that would make things interesting for people who are all maxed out.

As in, they need nothing, the only thing left to do is grind all day. other than killing other people, there is nothing to do with their stats etc. and i do believe certain skills provide no benifit after a certain lvl so i would concider that maxing even though you can go higher. not sure what ones though as iam kinda new.

You can always try to see how many numen points you can get. Hunting down random high q stuff can be fun, I guess.

Quite aware that it's a proof of concept, and a goddamned epic one at that. It's a groundbreaking MMO, and that's awesome.

As for the "playing with people" aspect, I do live with a couple of dudes (Wisp and Shroom').

That mordor Idea has started to sound better and better since I threw it out there at random. Perhaps I can use lake flaccid as a launching point, train my combat skills up high enough to stand a chance, and the go mine-hunting out in the wilderness.

Regardless, Can't wait to see what the "full" game provides. Considering that at current, we're only an alpha, I imagine some pretty sweet stuff.

Sorry for the shitty formatting. I hit my head on my desk as I was getting up with morning. Start your day on the wrong foot!

You can survive surprisingly well in Mordor even with low UA if you exist on high alert and stay near the water. You can do this even without a boat, although with a boat it is much simpler. The instant you see a bear, or a boar or a fox you get the hell out as quick as you can. When cornered in the water you lead the bear downstream by sneaking off several feet, coming ashore long enough for it to locate you and rushing back into the water before it can actually munch your head off. You also need to pick every mushroom and catch every rabbit you see to avoid starving. If you are not too hopelessly deep in mordor there are occassionally the kills of other hunters to scavenge for the occasional high q bonus item.

I know one character on this map who reached the border of level 5 to level 6 land on her first day of random wandering, and settled there. She was considerably annoyed three weeks later to reach the the skill level to kill level fives simultaneously with the civilization level reducing all the local animals down to level one...

I know another character who played for two hours on his first day, walking until a level 4 boar ko'd him where upon he logged out because he couldn't figure out how to get away. He logged in weeks later and walked all day long until he reached level 10 land, chose a base camp, made a few baskets, caught a few fish... and got hit by a server roll back that took him right back to the place he'd been ko'd in level 4 land...

But I think he would have survived alright in level 10 land. He had found a heath. He had chickens to eat and with patience, many kuksa of water and dogged determination he would have been able to kill cows, even with only a 10 in strength.
