While i think what would have happened when a less dedicated Company than Bethesda would have bought the IP...sadly they're handling it very very strictly

And a bit of the spirit of BIS is still around with Obsidian and growing

DLC ripoff jokes

Did you guys actually hear that Valve and Beth tried to make money off mods created by users a while ago on Steam? The mod author would get 25 %, Beth 40 % and Steam 35 % of the cut as far as I remember. In the end it backfired badly because protest was formed at the nexus and the whole thing received very bad publicity. After a couple of days they decided to shut it down and refund the people who bought mods. Funny how they also only sold the usual crap mods. Mostly ugly, exaggerated bling weapons and armor for like 5 $.

This guy covered it pretty well when it happened:

I bet it will be back in the future though.

Hah, that's a bit too much for me. Actually, apart from Fallout 3 I only ever finished Fallout Tactics (and this wasn't even part of the core series, awesome game though).

I'd probably be more hyped if it had been another Elder Scrolls game. But that will still take its sweet time.

in all seriousness, Fallout Tactics rules, but you should really play all of the other Fallout games...

Uh I did, I just never finished them. I started Fallout 2 a lot of times in particular but I always lose interest once I'm done with that gecko place near the beginning. It's like some magical barrier I can't cross. And New Vegas never managed to get me hooked. Roaming through ruins and discovering useful / rare stuff (along with the story of these places), taking out some raider holes or mowing down supermutants in some tense firefights in Fallout3 was still the most fun I had.
Also, the Elder Scrolls may be very mainstream but all parts of the series have been very enjoyable so far (except for Arena, never played it so I can't tell). I like the wasteland but in end the fantasy shit gets me more. And the Skyrim modding scene is awesome. I wasted far more time with mods than with vanilla Skyrim.
