I am curious as to the answer of his other question.. how many are settled?

None are settled like the main one is settled. The most heavily populated is the eastern supergrid, which Xanadu claimed.

was it because in the first few days of the new world the map extended towards the east, hence such population in the eastern supergrid?
I walked east for so long with my companions till we settled and made swampcrazed, after which we moved in further east.

the goons claim at least one supergrid in the west or southwest as the goon nation. i know we have one non-goon living within our area. we like him. everyone else keep out.

How can we keep out if we don't know exactly from where?

just don't go into the west side of the map at all and you'll be fine
