Once you have quelled one time, you have to wait for the animal to fight back, then quell it again and again, five times total. It takes about an hour.
^ Yeah, this. If you 'Quell the Beast' once, it only gets 20 'tame points' (number floats above the animal when your 'Quell the Beast' move is successful). At that point it will cease combat mode and it will follow you around. Sometime within the next 5 - 15 minutes, it will go wild and attack you again however.
You then need to Quell the Beast once more. Again this means having battle advantage, zero intensity, enough initiative and an equipped rope. If your second Quell attempt is successful, a '40' will float above. You need to repeat this again 3 times (wait 5 - 15 mins until it attacks, Quell it) - for 5 successful 'Quell the Beasts' in total - before it will change it's art into a domesticated animal. All up, it's an hour to tame given all the joyous waiting and the number of times you need to do it.
During that time, you can be walking it back to camp.
