It *does* give a warning when you purchase it, unless they've changed it since I drowned.

furthermore i agree with, that buying swimming is to cheap at the moment, it has to be more expensive in relation to it's dangerousness.

"Don't buy swimming", if followed, prevents even accidentally turning swimming on and drowning because of that. It's excellent advice.

well id add a qualifier like "dont buy swimming unless you know what the fuck you are fucking doing" but then lemmings would assume they knew what the fuck they were doing

Yes, there is. Which is what makes it even funnier. From memory, I think it even pops up as a little dialogue box you have to close (rather than the normal red warming in the bottom left).
