Miners don't need more food. Miners need more tea, resulting in needing more food if none taken.

As for tea, yes, it's true that farmers also need tea, but they need a lot less than miners. Miners, on the other hand, require slightly more food, so I think in the end it balances out. 28 cic per loaf is a fair price all in all, I'd say. The 7 cic price is the absolute minimum, and it's simply a price you shouldn't go below under any circumstances.

Well yeah, these prices are just there to establish worth of items, I certainly do not demand to be paid in cic. Bars are perfectly fine. And your ratio of 8 cast to 1 wrought is the absolute maximum I'm willing to agree with, though I feel that it should be closer to 6:1.

I agree that on the face of it there is a 1/6 chance of turning Ciron into Wiron on the face of it, but it takes more work, time, and charcoal, which adds value. also, when you have a couple pieces of Ciron, you know what you have...but if you try to turn those into Wiron, you have a good chance of ending up with nothing. Which makes it dangerous except for areas that can do massive baches. the extra work time and matieral pushes it up, for me, to the 7-8 range, and the danger of losing your work into the 8-10 range.
Im not asking if you agree with the numbers im giving, but do you see what I mean about why i dont like 1-6?

Good point.

Anyway, we should try and establish average prices for farm products in this thread. I've explained some of the reasoning behind my prices, so let's all throw our numbers here and try to agree on what our products are worth. Here's my list:
Code: Select all
item           fair price    current selling price

grain            10cic              5cic
flour            25cic             13cic
bread            28cic             15cic
butter           25cic             13cic
apple pie        60cic             30cic
carrot cake      80cic             40cic
honey bun        35cic             17cic
straw             3cic              1cic

Of course, all these prices are if you're coming to me. Additional transport costs will be added for delivery.

*edit*
Niltrias, you make good points. Still, I will only agree to 8:1 ratio, anything higher than that isn't acceptable for me. Also, how much do you value steel? I'd put it at double the price of wrought, but I've never even seen a bar of it, so my estimate isn't worth much.

Your bread is too cheap and butter too expensive.
If flour is 25 then bread should be more like 35 coins.

true.

also, steel is worth more than 2x wrought. remember, it has to stay in the crucible for 36 (???) hours.

We reckon steel is 10 times more valuable than wrought. Even though there no chance of failure you must re-fuel it constantly. And steel is the rarest material in the game so far. Making it expensive.

Well, in that case I'm not accepting steel as payment. I'd rather convert wrought to steel on my own than pay through the nose.

Don't worry about it too much. we made a deal with only clayshire to handle the value like that. Once we produce enough steel to swim in it (aka once we got all gear, which is soon), value should drop. But don't expect steel to be worth 3 wrought. That's downright stupid.

I don't think actually baking the bread once you have flour is all that much work, so it doesn't warrant such a big increase. 30-ish might be nice middle ground.

As for steel, well, I'm never going to pay more than 4 wrought for 1 steel. If it ends up being more expensive than that, I guess I'll just make my own.

Is there an agreed currency exchange? I think it was 35CIC = 1 WIC and 10WIC = 1SC, but I'm unsure.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.
