I acutaly found it easier to draw a map by myself than putting together minimaps.

One single oven no separation between fields huts placed at odd angles that place is an efficiency nightmare.

Separation between fields is a waste of space and thus efficiency (the more space you use, the more you have to walk).

i find that having a tile or two between fields makes them easier to harvest/plow/plant

Time is a lot more powerful than space mister so time efficient trumps space efficient any day. Sure space translates into walking a little bit extra but it also translates in quick efficient farming without the risk of a miss click harvesting the neighboring plants.
