You need to invest in Yeomanry before you can build the palisade? Thank fuck I had the foresight to invest in a claim before building the wall.

Well if you're still new I would suggest making camp further away from the bear lol, might be best. Especially when your village starts to expand.

 i am thelucky man alive when it comes to bears. i spawned with a bear only 25 feet away, and i have stumbled across bears that try to be ninja, but fail. my explorer and my fisherman, however, havent been so lucky. about 6 bear attacks total, a thorn in the foot not 5 minutes after the first bear, and several times they have been KOed by leeches cuz we live next to a swamp and they forgot to check for leeches! Ninja Bears FTW!!! (PS, my fisherman was also killed by a moose due to a bug with collision detection where he wound up porting inside the pen  )

Have everyone go in a structure or log out for an hour. The server will forget the terrain in the area and when someone goes back to everything is rerandomized.

If you do get aggroed, run away from your base, then port to heart when you get up after the KO. Might as well lead the bears away if you're going down anyway.
