Actually, I'm delighted to say you're wrong.
Quality only effects the overall fish quality.
Lure/ hook/ possibly line type/ time/ moon phase / location are what determine the fish you get.

So i was sure ql doesnt affect fish type.
Dear god how wrong i was, also raging on all of sudden pike spam. I've tried different lures, different lakes and day/night fishing. Only goddamn pike, altho im not against some str/con and will probably fish for it directly later, but thats not the case.
The point is, i realised that some time before i crafted new fishing pole and all that stuff like hook and new lures. I've been crafting it wearing +survival clothes and end up with just a bit higher quality than the pole i had before. And thats exactly when all this pike madness started.
So i made brand new low-quality fishing pole completely naked, and voila - plaice, lovely plaice.

Still might be a coincidence of some sort but if its not i really wonder how you are supposed to catch high quality plaice.

Well I'll be fuckin' damned.
I switched from a q4 woodfish to like a q12 one and BAM pike.
This is odd...maybe there are certain ranges where certain fish get caught at....

Pike is not much trouble. At least you can get 3 attributes. But when you can catch only perch...

Pike is shallow and perch is deep water I believe.
