I did accept it...as I stated...assholes, same as in real life...and it IS just as "legitimate" as it is in real life AND for the same reason AND by the same kind of people. Here's to "realism" Sugarbear. ;)

Firefox consider yourself lucky that the person actually left something to behind to attempt to compensate. Most of the others are not so nice. Like building the gate so that you cannot open the gate but they can, walling your gate so you cannot get out at all (douche bag and game breaking but legit? [don't ask] ) or just wait for you to kill you.

Also boar hides for bear talisman isn't what I call a bad trade, especially if you have problems facing a bear.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

To me there's no difference between stealing in Haven&Hearth and jacking some NPC's car in Grand Theft Auto. This is in fact a ROLE playing game, which means people can play the role of a thief without being one IRL. The black skills exist to support players who want to play such a role, and protecting yourself against such players is an important part of the gameplay for everyone. If you can't deal with that then go play Farmville instead.

Before you think I'm trying to justify myself here, I've stolen exactly 0 items in this game, and my aim for my character is to be a ranger. Just punishment is as much a part of the game as crime. ;)

I also absolutely do not condone griefing. If you're doing crime just to annoy people IRL rather than improve your characters position, you're no longer playing the game, just being an asshole. Unfortunately, putting up with a certain amount of griefing is a price we have to pay for having a game with as much freedom as Haven & Hearth.

Sadly been a game, people love to do evil things more so as they cant get caught/thrown into jail etc. So griefing becomes common, in a game you have more of a need to protect your property.

Stealing isn't griefing, it's part of the game. The "Theft" skill is there for a reason. It's only griefing if you steal stuff from weaker players just to annoy them.

Only for an asshole too lazy or stupid to get what they need themselves...SAME as in real life. SO no it is not part of "everyone's Game", it is there because (I guess) they want a place for assholes to feel at home in the game too...or company...whichever is more acccurate.

you need to spent a lot of effort in going stealing, more if you dont want to get caught later on. They are not lazy, or stupid, they just take advantage of the possibilities offered in the world

people who get a kick out of making playing for you impossible (such as those who build a wall around your walled in claim) or simply like to take your q1 sling and your q3 stone axe... thats something else (unless you do it to a griefer)

I learnt the hard way: Anything not within your claim influence is common property.

if you leave a laptop at a train station, do you expect to see it again? possible, not likely

The dude left you a Q59 bear necklace, you didn't have a claim over your racks, and you only lost a couple of boar hides?
