Do you really think this is an explanation of how you aren't forcing people to leave?

The few russians that spawned (traveled?) near us were asked to join our village or move further out before they had invested anything in the land, explaining that we wanted to expand further. They set up camp anyways and over time gave the impression that they were there to make trouble for everyone.

Oh for goodness sake.

So, we go to extraordinary lengths to organise a new kind of city, where _anybody_ is welcome to have their own land, and do what they want in it. In order for the thing to work, we need people to follow the layout plan.

Today while doing the screenshots for the city, I notice somebody has gone and made a really big claim just south of our major square. I'm not talking about some friendly neighbours living 'nearby' for any length of time, but rather people who clearly know there is a massive city right next to them, because it is one screen away.

If removing that claim with our village influence is wrong, then I'm a teapot.

Regardless, it may well be a clueless newbie. We aren't going to treat it like some kind of evil attack, but we also arent going to 'live and let live' and rerout our entire city plan because somebody can't be arsed with being remotely considerate.

well..
If someone put a claim near a city, he should know that is near a place with many people and potentyalli a place with few resources for himself.

If a man wanna be alone, he don't put a claim near a city and he travel. If he don't want be alone, he Join.
If he wanna be Alone in the MIDDLE of a city, is a loony.

Life is cruel, but say to a man "Ehi i'll grow my city, know it and of course this could be a problem for you" isn't cruelty, is the thruth. Maibe not so kind, but not so much cruel afterall. Brodgar wanna grow and he grow. Who is near it can freely choose, isn't forced to join, but if the city will sorround his claim, is weird he choose to stay there. Maibe he could choose to not join and not move and build his own road sorrounded by walls to guarantuee his free road..but..

...why? Is weird.

It's not wrong, but it's also not "peaceful".

OK< seems like some people are under the impression that they have permission to block off the whole of the south of the square for a 'trade guild'. *sigh*

Great. Just great.
