When My exploration reaches a hundred points, I'll invest some more LP on Marksmanship, Melee, Unarmed Combat, finally buy brawling and Valor, then get my cooking up to a hundred and keep piling on cooking and Exploration. I'll serve both high quality tea and butter steamed cave bulbs in exchange for chantrelles, of which I will use to buy high quality dried tea leaves from some supplier.

I usually enjoy games that let me develop my character(s) and allow them to grow and do more; I was never much for "end games" and gathering loot. When I get to the point where my characters only seem to be getting a little better at doing the same thing they have been doing for the past month, I wander off to experience a new game or try to find a new way to play the current game.

At the moment (after a couple of weeks) I am still at the stage of growing as a wilderness settler. When I can finally tame cattle and sheep, survive the odd boar attack, fight foxes and survive, and generally do everything I can do without metal, I will probably find a village and see whether there are new aspects of the game that my character wants to grow into.

The definition of existentialism doesn't really apply to this thread, but it's an interesting thread nonetheless.

I think the reason why sandbox MMO's are so fun, at least to me, is because the COMMUNITY decides how the endgame plays out, the destiny of characters, the gameplay of the Hearthlands in general. So while there may be no clear objective, through wars, community, friendship, etc. there are endless end game possibilities.

Maybe if it was spelled right, you would agree....because this could be one real essence of existentialism, if you let it be...

Bloody hell, I knew I had something messed up. Fuck, there goes my memory on lectures on Simone de Bouvaire, or other. I forget the spelling there.

Live comfortably, map the world, start a village, maybe support a underdog village to try and carve itself into a town, or maybe go the way of intrigue and rise up to an already existing town position.

Not in any order.

Same here. I was thinking i'd use my current settlement to build up a workable character and get a decent skill a town would need.(Looking at farming at the moment, mostly because i'd have fun just planning field structure because i'm weird like that) Then start mapping my way to a town. (Not anywhere near civilization. I haven't seen a live human yet, all i've found are a bunch of sleepers with cool stuff unclaimed.

I've got a whole bunch of goals that change and move around a lot.

I'm now building roads and milestones from soddom to places that I want to visit with a cart (I'm not a fan of teleporting)
I enjoy farming every now and again, if they made ovens capable of holding more than 4 items I'd probably build myself one and get into baking as well.

I enjoy silk production, and when I get time to sit down and play for a number of hours I really enjoy tree planting and other landscaping.

For a while I was getting right into mapping, the auto mapping client sort of killed that for me, but maybe some day I'll get back into that.

I guess a long term goal of mine is to drive Avu to rage quit by campaigning for features that specifically hamper his ability to enjoy the game...
